Description
Trades in Feb. 2019 near trade deadline. Habs thinking longer term and making space for younger prospects. Oilers on the playoff bubble want to add useful assets to current roster. Islanders (or a western team needing defensive depth) give up some future for present competitiveness.

Assume Habs pick at #8 and #15 in 2019 draft, selecting Peyton Krebs (LW) and Philip Broberg (LHD).

oilers have cap issues. taking Tatar long term seems not probable. to give up a first pick for possible out of the playoff team, nope.
same with isles. they look like a top five lottery pick, they aren't giving that up for petry.

we moved out Kassian for nothing because he was doing Drugs.
its why we so abruptly dumped him to EDM for Scrivens who was completely garbage for everyone but LAK who had the leagues best D when he played there .

there is -1000000000 chance we move Tatar for a Cast off from MTL even with a 1st pick .
besides Tatar is worth keeping he's so fast and a huge part of our teams new identity (trading him would be like LAK trading Kovalchuk at this point )

Bergevin despises Kassian. Would never trade for him. If Tatar plays well this year, his value would be a 1st / 2nd / and maybe a prospect. But i dont think we trade him. I think we need sergachev back to be honest. A strong offensive left d would help this team so much. Center position will fill up over time
