OBVIOUSLY: our center depth and prospect pool would be affected differently. and its not 100% that we take debrincat and girard. but just watch the interview with trevor timmins after the draft. it only makes sense they wanted girard. debrincat was projected much higher, and the canadiens really put emphasis on speed in that draft.

galchenyuk and pacioretty trades both are subjected to have not happened. but i didnt want to start adding/trading players for fun. those trades look decent right now, they just came at the aftermath of the mess bergevin made. He faileed at the 2016 draft and he couldve had an insane Haul. much like mcdonagh/pacioretty/subban .. pperhaps not to the exact degree. but sergachev/debrincat/girard/mete in that draft haul is insane. let alone radulov signing the next year. shaw is a good complementary player on a team thats perfectly put togethenr not one thats building
