All of that is a waist of assets. None of those players improves on anything in any real way. McQuaid isn't as good as Dermott, he may not be better than Marincin who actually (And this really pains me to say it) has looked pretty solid on the bottom pair. Making moves for the sake of making moves is silly.

One could, you know make moves that have a tangible benefit to the team they are pretending to represent. I could spend all day trading assets for minor leaguers who wouldn't make the team.

Unless they decide to trade Nylander, I think the Leafs might only need to make small moves for depth. These are 2 options, and they don,t give up any major assets for it. McQuaid is not a bad player to have as a bottom-pairing D by the way.
