Description
Not sure about the value tbh... Could be a slight overpayment for a 33-year old, but I see the Backes contract as the absolute worst thing in Boston.

Soderberg and Backes have the same age, but Soderberg still produces (something). His contract is way better and shorter than Backes'. The Avs get a solid young player with Heinen and have more cap to handle the Backes contract. Maybe more salary needs to be retained tho...

When Soderbergs contract comes to an end, we can use the money to sign DeBrusk.

Unless Boston is trading him to STL or MIN, I don't see him being traded this season. In the off-season his NMC goes to a 8-team trade list and then a 15 team trade list the year after that. I still think they should look to find a team with a ton of cap space to help spread out his cap hit.

Sure? I never read anything about that. Ok, he's fragile at this point of his career, but seriously?
Btw although he sucks on the ice, I really wish nobody a serious injury that could affect even his personal life.

I personally don't like Heinen that much. I think Donato has more potential.
