These are my two favorite NHL teams (Oilers-1, Jets -2). This is an interesting trade. The Jets could potentially use a #2 center if Little continues to slow down (although they have Roslovic who hasn't fully proven himself yet) and the Oilers could use a pure sniper to go along with McDavid the playmaker.

I do feel like you would need to sweeten the pot more on the Oilers side due to the 44 goals by Laine being hard to replace and Draistial put up a lot of points with McDavid and although he's shown signs of running his own line, he hasn't been able to do it consistently yet.

Very interesting though.

It's interesting for sure. Jets need a #2 C and the Oilers need an elite RW to play with McDavid. If the Oilers locked down Laine for 8 years they could have the best 1-2 punch in the NHL. Pretty scary!!
As for the Jets, they are pretty deep at wing and having Draisaitl in the top 6 would make them insanely deep. It would make for some great head to head matchups between the clubs for years.

Too early to already be giving up on Laine like that. Slow start to this year but he will likely pick up. It may benefit the Jets, they are likely to sign him for less once his ELC is up. Draisaitl's contract isn't friendly with the jets current situation. Trade makes sense for both teams but still think Jets would rather hold onto Laine.
