Description
Being able to keep Kevin Hayes and add Artemi Panarin would create 2 dynamic lines and create a 3rd line similar to the 2013-2014 Zuccarello-Brassard-Pouliot line. I don't believe Andersson will ever live up to his #7 overall draft choice (partially because of how great Chytil will be/overshadow him) but he will be a very serviceable 3rd/4th line center. Think Oscar Lindberg the year before the expansion draft but with more upside.
In a perfect world they get rid of Staal over Smith but I doubt anyone will take his contract and with Quinn's lack of desire to scratch Staal, I don't see him going anywhere. Smith's buyout will hurt in year 2 but they will have plenty of cap space available for it to restrict them from re-signing key free agents like Kreider and Fast

Great idea, it would make the team a playoff lock next year. Is there any way that the Rangers can pry Shesterkin from the KHL? He'd easily win either an NHL roster spot or an AHL starting role. The kid is the future between the pipes for New York.

I wish there was a way to keep Zucc but keeping Hayes kind eliminates that possibility. I love Zucc but Hayes is more valuable in my opinion, especially if you'e getting Panarin

He'll likely come over next season. All of our Russian prospects (Kravtsov, Rykov, Shesterkin) are free to come over after this season. I think Shesterkin will start in the AHL to get used to the different angles of the American rink and make is NHL debut midway through the season. In an ideal world Kravtsov wouldn't be rushed or forced into the NHL but I think he's ready, just hope he transitions well.

I agree that keeping Hayes is a good idea, but what do you do with all of the centers? Can Lias really stay on the fourth line forever? And is Chytil gonna be a winger?

Good problem to have though. I'm all for it. Pretty happy with how rebuild has shaken out so far.
