Description
Carolina has shown interest in trading one of their RHD(Pesce, Faulk, Hamilton). The leafs have a whole at RHD, and Carolina needs scoring. Seems like something worth exploring on both sides. I doubt Toronto wants to part with a high end roster player, so it will probably be something around a scoring winger, picks and/or prospects depending on who they are going after.
What is really important to me is that if they make a move, they play with Reilly. Reilly is a Norris candidate, and his D partner is basically a stick on skates. Getting him someone who is capable of playing in the top pair would be scary for the rest of the league
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Faulk, Justin
Additional Details:
Faulk had a 49 point season a few years back, but ha been more of a 35 point guy for his career. still, he's good in his own end and he eats up minutes. with a year and a half left at a reasonable cap hit, this is a guy the leafs could be targeting to play along side reilly in the playoffs
CAR
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi
  2. 2019 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Kapanen is quietly on a 28 goal pace for toronto at only 22 years old. He's fast as all hell and he kills penalties. he could be very valuable for carolina
2.
TOR
  1. Hamilton, Dougie
Additional Details:
hamilton will be the most expensive to afire because of what they gave up to get him this summer so i doubt the leafs go after him. still, if they wanted to it would probably cost something around this.
CAR
    kappenin
    Lilijgren or Sandin
    2019 first round pick

Get a young scorer with kappy(could be interested in Johnsson to), a top d prospect(preumibly would rather Sandin cuz he is a lefty) and a first round pick. I doubt the leafs want to give up to get hamilton because its to much IMO but this s what it would cost to get him
    3.
    TOR
    1. Pesce, Brett
    Additional Details:
Pesce is interesting to me. Lottos people wanted him to be traded for Nylander, but as of right now his career high in points is only 20, which is low even for a blue-liner. Still, he has the skill set to play big minutes in the top 4 and is a huge upgrade over Hainsey next to Captain Morgan.
    CAR
      Kappy/Johnsson
      B level prospect(Braaco, Rosen)
      2nd round pick

Again, might be a lot to give up but Pesce is on an extremely good deal and is still a solid player.

buddy i am a leafs fan and trust me i think its to much too. I'm not saying the leafs should do it cuz i think hamilton just isn't their guy and he's way to expensive. but the canes probably won't tae less cuz of what it took to get him

Every trade is not cap compliant for the Leafs....if they want/need to pay their Performance Bonuses this year Hamilton is the worse Dman of the three and you gave up the most.
It's subjective....but is Faulk that much better than Ozzie to give up Kapanen. The Pesce trade seems the most term/needs for both teams.
