Caps laugh and hang up the phone. You may get Burakovsky and a pick for Toffoli (maybe) with some retain $. But no way you get Eller (who should get a first rounder on his own) or Stevie who is playing great in a bottom 6 role while you send a waiver wire pickup and a prospect.

Stephenson and Eller can play PK1 in Washington, and that's not saying much. None of the guys coming back is above PK3 in Washington. Lewis, Thompson, and Muzzin would be welcome, but Stephenson and Eller aren't going anywhere.

Eller is the only piece with value going to LA. LA looses this trade, both short run and long run.

Toffoli > Eller (Advantage Washington)
Luff has more upside than Burakovsky (Advantage Washington)
Leipsic = Stephenson (null)

Washington wins this trade handily.
