Description
Simple and obvious moves to get back to playoff capable team.

- If Djoos can get back into game shape soon, then great. You can demote Siegenthaler without waivers. Djoos takes his 3D right side spot from last year playoffs.

- Demote Puljujarvi to get some top line AHL minutes and bond with Ikonen. Call him up as a playoff fill-in at 3RW and slide Conns to 3LW if Gersich isn't making an impact.

- Trade DSP his magic is gone.
- Sit Bowey he's been awful.
- Give minutes to the speed guys like Stevie and Boyd...skating and making the effort will help generate good things. (Bura is not making an effort, and neither is Kuzy but he's not going anywhere).
Trades
1.
WSH
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  2. 2019 6th round pick (EDM)
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Conditions: If Puljujarvi does not re-sign with Washington by Oct 1st, 2019 Washington received the Oilers 2020 2nd round pick. If he accepts his qualifying offer or re-signs Washington receives no 2020 picks.
EDM
  1. Burakovsky, André
  2. Geisser, Tobias
Additional Details:
2nd round pick from EDM is a value guarantee for WSH
2.
WSH
  1. Brodzinski, Jonny
  2. Muzzin, Jake
  3. 2019 5th round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Doughty isn't going anywhere, Phanuef is untradeable, Muzzin seems more likely to get a good prospect and high pick than Martinez, LA is keeping the young guys like LaDue.
LAK
  1. Barber, Riley
  2. Johansen, Lucas
  3. Smith-Pelly, Devante
  4. 2020 2nd round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
LA will be trying to shed some forward money like Carter, so they'll need to get a bottom 6 grinder winger back since they have enough Centers to adjust. DSP is cheap and fills that role so they can cut bait at end of year. LA gets a top-10 D prospect in LucaJo and a solid higher round pick.

Good stuff. Probably have to choose between re-signing Connolly or Puljujarvi in the summer, but if you let Jaskin walk, there's space for one of them.

I love the depth on defense, and I hope that Reirden can use it to rest people, both by giving each defenseman a couple of days off, and also by reducing the big guys' minutes once they get a lead. Having four workable pairs of defensemen is a good way to be ready for the playoffs. On the other hand, I'm not convinced Johansen doesn't already count as ready for the NHL playoffs, and I think the Caps could get a little more use out of an RHD than an LHD.

LA wouldn't even talk to you on that offer.

Agree. LA will get more for Muzzin. Add a 1st instead of a second and it is possible.
