I think there might be something to the ROR for OEL idea. The other however doesn't make sense. No need to add Gaborik into this trade, unless that is you really want him and his terrible contract. I think Kane+pick because he is UFA for Martinez would work.

I definitely want to dump Scandella thats why i thought i would have to overpay by taking on Gaborik, and i figured if anyone would get him back on track it would be Eichel

I think you would need to add on ROR for OEL. I think they would keep OEL if all they got back was ROR.

ROR averages top 3 face of percentage in the league and 50-60 points a year, he's one of the better centermen in the league with a lot of years left on his contract. OEL has a year and a half left and their is no guarantee he wont hit FA. Sabres are taking a bigger risk

Why would you want to dump one of our better Dmen in Scandella? And take the oft-injured Gaborik and the similarly priced Martinez?

Not trading ROR, the trade may make some sense but ROR is very important to our team's make up.

Why would you want to dump Scandella for Gaborik, his contract is way worse than scandella and has a year less than Gaborik. Plus GMJB wouldnt make that deal as he just got Scandella

Scandella is awful and ROR doesnt fit this team thats why he is struggling, Sabres should flip him for a equal piece that makes sense for them
