Doughty is already making $7 million no way does he sign his next deal for only $1 million more Doughty has already stated that he wants more then Hedman so try at least $9.5 million to $10 million over 7 years or so.

Certainly under paying Matthews. And it look like Doughty too. The way the cap works, good teams just can't logically sign so many high end players without squeezing others.

No contending team can sign Doughty for 9+ mill long term and still contend. He would have to go to a team with no super star contract on its books. SO unless he wants to play in Arizona or Vegas he will have to take less.

Matthews will get 10. Eichel is overpaid at 10 and McDavid at 12.5. Plus the Leafs are run by Lou and Shanny and Lou has the best track record for getting the lowest possible cap hit on contracts. Hyman at 2.25, Brown for 2.1, Kovalchuk at $6,666,666. So if you think anyone playing for the Leafs will get more than 10 mill or 10.5 mill at the most you are crazy.
