These moves are going to take place during this season or a little after the Stanley Cup Final. Also a GM/Coaching change may be necessary moving forward.
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. 2018 4th round pick (VGK)
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (FLA)
2.
CHI
  1. 2019 2nd round pick (BUF)
BUF
  1. Hartman, Ryan
  2. Kempný, Michal
  3. Pokka, Ville
  4. Seabrook, Brent
  5. 2018 5th round pick (CBJ)
  6. 2019 2nd round pick (FLA)
  7. 2019 4th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Sabres takes a bad contract because of imminent rebuild, but will be paid very nice for it.
3.
CHI
  1. O'Reilly, Ryan
Additional Details:
1.5m retained. O'Reilly is obviously done playing for the Sabres. Hawks would get a younger 2C that will improve with a better line.
BUF
  1. Anisimov, Artem
  2. Fortin, Alexandre
  3. 2018 3rd round pick (CHI)
  4. 2019 1st round pick (CHI)
  5. 2020 4th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Sabres get a capable 2C with a good prospect and good picks to help in the rebuild.
4.
CHI
  1. van Riemsdyk, James
Additional Details:
This move will be made after the season is over but before July 1st. Hawks top 6 would be very boosted and would hand JVR a 7 year 6.75m to 7m AAV
TOR
  1. 2018 1st round pick (CHI)
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (CHI)
  3. 2019 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Dylan Sikura. Maple leafs will have to part with him before next season. They get a really good prospect a 1st and 2 second rounders which in my opinion here is a good trade.

Those two sabres trades are disasters. Just awful.

That's way too much to pay for "talking rights" for JVR at season's end. IMO 99% sure Leafs won't be resigning JVR anyway.

lol you really think O'Reilly is worth more with his contract? Forget it. Not many teams are going to have the Sabres GM on their speed dial for him. Sabres gave him too much for too long.

you are probably right with it being too much but the leafs will trade him before he becomes a FA just like the hawks did with Scott Darling.

I'm not sure a rebuilding team would want to get older at defensemen signed for another 6 years at almost 7M per year. Myabe if he was closer to the end of the contract?
Not sure the Sabres go full rebuild either. Yes, they're 7-17, but it's not like they have a ton of vets on bad contracts. They'll flip Kane at the TDL, I don't know what they can do with Moulson, but really, didn't they already rebuild? Maybe the parallel to draw is the Royals who rebuilt, the prospects took a little longer to develop than expected so there were a few extra years of losing, but then they put it together for a WS.
Not that I care about the Sabres too much, but I don't see them doing a big rebuild where they'd take on two players not too many people on this board seem to like in Seabrook & Anisimov.
I was reading a chat on MLB trade rumors and someone asked if a few prospects would be enough to get another player. The reply was something to the effect of, when considering a trade for a player that's good, the price is going to hurt, it's not going to be a few guys that one thinks the team can live without. It's a great answer. So no, I don't think trading Seabrook is possible because it's going to have to hurt the Blackhawks overall talent to get an opposing GM to take on the contract. And Anisimov, if one expects an opposing GM to rate him higher than you do, then sure, he's radeable. Otherwise, he's not.

Best hope Buffalo's 2019 2nd rounder is the reincarnation of Marian Hossa then. I'm in no doubt it will be

Sabres happily decline. Seabrooks contract is awful. Not interested in retaining on ror for 6 years. Basically adding 10 million in bad contracts for many years and getting a pocketful of magic beans. Awful.

laugh laugh You honestly believe that Buffalo will take on Seabrooks horrendous contract while retaining on O'Reilly as well, Yeah that's never going to happen.
