I'm not sure a rebuilding team would want to get older at defensemen signed for another 6 years at almost 7M per year. Myabe if he was closer to the end of the contract?
Not sure the Sabres go full rebuild either. Yes, they're 7-17, but it's not like they have a ton of vets on bad contracts. They'll flip Kane at the TDL, I don't know what they can do with Moulson, but really, didn't they already rebuild? Maybe the parallel to draw is the Royals who rebuilt, the prospects took a little longer to develop than expected so there were a few extra years of losing, but then they put it together for a WS.
Not that I care about the Sabres too much, but I don't see them doing a big rebuild where they'd take on two players not too many people on this board seem to like in Seabrook & Anisimov.
I was reading a chat on MLB trade rumors and someone asked if a few prospects would be enough to get another player. The reply was something to the effect of, when considering a trade for a player that's good, the price is going to hurt, it's not going to be a few guys that one thinks the team can live without. It's a great answer. So no, I don't think trading Seabrook is possible because it's going to have to hurt the Blackhawks overall talent to get an opposing GM to take on the contract. And Anisimov, if one expects an opposing GM to rate him higher than you do, then sure, he's radeable. Otherwise, he's not.
