Any Karlsson to the NYI regardless if it's a 1.5 or not starts with Barzal.

no it doesn't. they don't risk barzal for a player who could leave them in two years. especially with the risk of tavares leaving in the offseason

You're not getting Karlsson without including Barzal+

Sorry....You don't get top 5-10 NHL players for pennies. MDZ is a bust and a half. Mayfield is a bottom 6 defenseman, and Brock Nelson is a borderline 2nd line forward, better suited in a 3rd line role. The picks don't make this deal at all.

Top 5 players in the NHL cost more than that. Even as an Islanders fan i'd have to say you don't get Karlsson unless you give up Tavares++ or a huge package involving a ton of top pieces.

Only way Tavares is going to Ottawa is if there is an extension in place. He's a UFA-to-be at season's end. why would Ottawa take that for Karlsson?
