Ya that probably does it if they are looking for purely prospects and picks.

That might do it as far as the youngsters go but I can't see the Avs having much interest in taking Holden back. I realise he's in there so you can squeeze under the cap but that's the part I could see making it not work as the Avs are chock full of LHD of similar standard if not better, and younger. Also not sure the Avs would be too keen to retain with the likes of Rantanen, Compher, Yakupov, Andrighetto, Nieto, Nemeth, Zadorov, Kerfoot & maybe Bernier all potentially to re-sign before that contract ends.

Not really, its not too bad. Avs dont want Holden back or would look at a package of prospects like this. Nothing against them...howver They have lots of D coming up in Makar, Timmins, Meloche, etc

If they move Barrie its for a young Winger to fill a need in the org. Andersson is the only thing that really is of immediate interest. Apparently the Leafs called about Barrie in the summer and the price was Nylander. Thats what the Avs would be looking for to move Barrie

Guys Holden is a 1 year cap dump. Nothing else. He's only there so that NYR can afford to add Barrie. Not because he essential to this trade in any way.

LOL! Which is exactly what I said BUT the Avs have ZERO use for him which means it wouldn't work and they already have Colborne & Hammond buried. Andersson is the only really attractive part of the trade as Coga says and for those reasons.

Thats still the point im trying to make.......... It doesn't matter if you have use for him or not. Its either you take him for the remainder of this year (which is no big deal he makes less than 2M), or the trade doesn't happen.

You wouldn't do this trade simply because you have no use for Holden? Thats like Sakic not doing the Duchene trade because he has no use for Hammond.....

Lol yeah but come on enough for you to not make a good trade? Just bury him in the minors. Send him to ECHL. Anything!! its just for a couple months.

yeah this makes convos way easier. I like Day, Deangelo, and Andersson. Those are legit nice pieces (but thats 3 out of Rangers top 5 prospects? Thats a lot) So taking the cap dump and retaining salary Rangers would have to over pay somewhat. Just dont see the fit with the Rangers with them having Shattenkirk too. Seems redundant. But I could see them wanting Pavel Buchnevich in a 1 for 1 deal for him. But yeah they would take Holden just to send him out to the moon if they had to

I really think Leafs is the fit for Barrie if they decide to sell him off.

If im Colorado, I take that and run to the hills. Think of what Stepan and Raantta got. (Deangelo and a 1st- Andersson) Then your adding Day and a 2nd on top of that? Barrie is good but lets not get carried away either. Its one thing to be greedy on this website but its another thing to be greedy IRL. Sakic would and should absolutely take that deal.

I think he takes it, but its not what I would want to see wtih Barrie.

They got the Massive futures package for Duchene, would like to see a more known thing if they move on from Barrie (especially if he puts up a 70 point season like he is on pace to do this year)..Sell him on him and try to get a legit young winger out of any deal

I dunno, there really is no need to get a stud right now roster player from this deal. Thsi team is not competing any time soon and that player would only be burning up valuable years of his contract. IMO if you go futures package for one guy, you go future packages for all of them. This team is rebuilding. Make so mistake about it.

Also once again, don't get too greedy. Everyone on this earth isn't a braintard. Barrie is a decent top 4 but no top pairing superstar. Everyone knows this. The strong season is helping people forget about last year but its not creating a false belief that he is the next EK.

Long term its a glaring need for the Avs to help solve the Top 6 Winger depth issues. D heavy Packages are less of a priority with what they have no in Zads, Girard, Timmins, Makar. Thats 4 guys under 22 who can be long term fixtures on their Blue Line. With Wildcards to Meloche, hes part of that youth movement.

They would take the Deal and Run, but They would be flipping some of those D prospects for Fwd ones, thats just a glut of too many young dmen trying to crack the NHL all at the same time. Honestly I would be ok wiht a Kasperi Kapanen package deal. They arent getting a near point per game young Winger for him. But need a guy of that mold so yeah Andersson could fit that need I guess but I dont know much about him

Hey having too much of one thing is a good thing. Trade them for areas of need. At least you got full value back and gives you the opportunity to go out get what it is you want. Just because you get Deangelo in this trade doesn't mean you have to keep him.
