The last thing the Leafs want to do is take on a long term contract on a declining player like Petry's. . . . .let alone give up an asset to do it! Carolina laughs as well!

Absolutely right. This wouldn't land you Hanifin, I agree. But don't say that they are scraps. Ian Cole and Carl Hagelin are scraps. Lehkonen is a solid prospect. Not even close to a "scrap" player. Neither are the other guys. Just say its not enough. Which is adequate and correct.

You saying these those guys are scraps is like saying these are scraps:

Athanasiou
Frk
Turgeon
2nd round pick

Not enough for Hanifin but they are not scraps.

Yeah Lehkonen isn't McCarron is most Hab fans tell me that McCarron is going to be a bust. Compared to what Ron Francis could get for Noah Hanifin from other teams these would be scraps in all honesty.

Yeah I get what you mean. Im just saying they aren't scraps. It just not nearly enough. Its like saying trading Drouin for McDavid. EDM isn't going to say Drouin is scrap just because he isn't as good as McDavid. He is simply not enough. That's all.

I just hate when people over exaggerate negativity. This site has become plagued with a sense that only players that are either on ELC's, Tampa Bay or within the top 20 in scoring are worth something. Everyone else is "scraps".....
