Why would Josh Bailey sign for 5.5 Million when he is in the top 4 for league scoring right now......
He's doing better than McDavid, Crosby, etc...
I would think if he continues this kind of production (100 point pace) he will easily ask for MINIMUM 8 Million (Voraceks number)

Both Bailey and De Haan will make more then what you're offering them.

Sharks have other solid back up goalies in the system. No way we take on 3.3m in cap for someone who will play 20 games.

That's a lot of money/term for Stastny.

None of this makes any sense.

-If Tavares leaves, you can forget about all of these FA signings. Tavares leaving means we have to start over on the rebuild. No quality FA in their prime will sign on to a team entering a new rebuild.
-Why does Vancouver jettison a perfectly good middle 6 center for Ladd, a guy on an albatross contract with 5 years left on it?
-Why does VGK allow us to cap dump on them? They already have a good defensive corps, what do they need Boychuk (yet another albatross contract) for?
-Even if we're getting rid of Boychuk for cap space, which isn't possible, why are we signing even older skaters to identical contracts? Stastny is fine now, but he'd quickly become another Boychuk for us.
-De Haan wants far more than 2.5 mil a year, and that's exactly why he won't be an Islander next year. Bailey would likely sign for 5.5 mil a year. The one realistic prediction here.

Usually I try not to be this harsh on a site meant for fun, but this is just awful. And this evaluation completely ignores that Tavares might leave. That's a whole other rant that I'd prefer to spare you.

You've dumped a lot of Vegas, who they just may not want. 33 year old Boychuyk for 6 years? Haula and Schmidt are good with Vegas. And just because the Canucks have cap doesn't mean they want Ladd for five years at 5.5m. Dumping unwanted cap on other teams and then signing UFAs for a similar amount doesn't happen.

I can guarantee you that if John Tavares leaves Josh Bailey goes as well. Doubt Bailey stays if JT leaves.

Vancouver deal is horrendous. I don't like Statsny and Johnson signings because they will be rebuilding if they lose John Tavares. Barzal would become the first line center. Vegas will not accept Boychuk deal. Bailey and De Haan will want more money.
