    I think MTL get more than a 3rd for Plekanec, especially if they eat half of his salary. At least a 2nd, maybe even a 1st. Keep in mind, a team that is willing to take on Pleks, is making a playoff push, and will draft 25-31 in the 1st round anyways. That 1st round pick is almost a 2nd anyways.

    No way I would make that Danault trade. I think Danault has a future in this league as a 3rd line center and can chip in 15 goals a year. Mueller hasn't shown anything in any league yet that he could do the same.

    I like the PIT trade... not sure they do. Depends what they see in Mete. I think Mete would look good on a 3rd pairing next season with Noah Juulsen. That duo could someday be our 2nd pairing after a few seasons of experience. Maybe if you lose Mete in a deal, you have to re-sign Jerabek in the offseason in hopes of maintaining some d-corps depth.

    I don't think there's any way Montreal gets more than a 3rd for Plekanec, he's an average 3C that can add depth to a contender, only has 16 points this season and only 28 all of last season, don't see him fetching much.

    I'm actually a Devils fan and I actually think it would be tough to lose Mueller in a trade like that, Mueller had a stable position in our lineup and was playing quality minutes before he got hurt, just think Danault would help fill a role for NJ and his speed fits the Devs system, Mueller is a quality player though IMO

    Lets try and revisit this in a few days/weeks/months. It's an almost certainty that Plekanec is getting dealt. We'll see who's right.

    I don't think we'll get to see about the Danault trade though.

    Are you insane? Our best C for a bottom-pairing dman? Pacioretty and our top D prospect for Letang who is on a very expensive contract and can't stay healthy to save his life?

    No to Letang. I don’t understand why so many Hab fans want him. Injury prone and expensive. No thanks. I would keep Mete and deal Patches separately

    I think your valuation on those players is a bit high. If Danault is your best center, then that's all you need to know about the quality of Montreal's roster right now, Danault is a 3C on a good team.

    Oh I know he's not more than a high-end 3C but the fact that he's still our best C, and is still cost-controlled, makes him very important for us, much more than Mueller would be. We shouldn't move Danault for anything less than a vast overpayment.
