No reason for the Wild to make that trade. Brodin has 2 more years on his contract than Gardiner, and it's a lateral move. Brodin's skillset also compliments Dumba's skillset better than than Gardiner's does (imo).

You're probably right. I just like Brodin more than Gardiner. I removed the trade so that people will focus on the Ellis trade. I'd like to know thoughts on what it would take to get Ellis. Then I would love to move Gardiner.

I gotta be honest. I'm not sure I do JVR for him straight up. I know that sounds ridiculous especially given their respective contract situations and the Leafs' need for RHD, but I'm not sure I see him as a top pairing guy. I think Ellis benefits a lot from where he falls on the Nashville depth chart.

It's a reasonable offer tho, IMO.
