I see a few Boston rebuilds below. What would it take to get Bergeron? Dano is a 1st rounder. Shaw's an RFA which you could either resign or collect draft picks. Bickell is due to salary. Threw in an extra prospect that's a little older. and of course a 1st rounder
Don't think this is nearly enough. Bergeron is one of the best (if not the best) two-way centres in hockey on a pretty reasonable long-term deal. The Bruins would need some elite young pieces coming back and I don't think Dano fits the bill.
Also, I don't think you would trade for him to have him play wing. Reality is, Chicago would almost certainly be outbid if he became available.
Noooo wayyy haha bruins arent rebuilding maybe retooling, they arent tradng any part of their core even if they dont make the playoffs. Bergeron, Krejci, Rask, and krug arent getting traded. Bruins will maybe make a hockey trade or a buyer trade for a non expiring contract for a dman but no way they blow it up... and even more if they do trade someone like that theres no way in hell its to chicago...
He is a really great player. Best on Boston. Just seeing the B-town posts and it looks like they're trading away core players. True Berg isn't a LW, but he's not a 3rd line center either which is where he'd play in Chicago if you're forced @ center. He's not better than Toews and you can't break up the Kane/Anisimov/Panarin. What do you think he would command? What about another 1st? Now it's (4) 1st rounders....I don't think you'll get a much better offer...no???
Don't know how the Hawks would manage the cap in the next few years with Bergeron. Dano, Shaw and 30th pick for Bergeron, I don't think Boston's interested. Baun and Bickell are virtually insignificant at the NHL level.
But that's the problem. Chicago is one of the few teams that doesn't really need Bergeron, plus they don't really have the pieces that would likely get a deal done. And keep in mind, a Chicago 1st round pick is usually 25-30 overall. Plus Dano was a late 1st rounder who's hardly lighting up the AHL this year.
I would expect Boston would need an elite-level prospect, a good young roster player and some package of high picks to even start thinking of moving him.
