That's if they make the playoffs this year, and if not, it's because Molson has his head up is ass.

Let say they make the playoffs, I'd give him another year, top. If they don't at least get to the conference finals in 2019, he's out for good. I'd keep Julien though, he's not the one responsible for this shitty team.

You gotta give at least this summer to try and salvage his repuatation and this team. He’s done a lot of questionable moves that haven’t turned out but this summer Montreal is going to have some serious cash to splash on the open market. I think the summer will mark a now or never point to bring in that #1 center that’s eluded this team for so long. If he fails to bring one in I’d say he’s out by the New Year. It’s typically harder to bring in big names with new GM’s. Unless Montreal is fully committed to rebuilding through the draft I’d say the call for his head this season is unwarranted but may soon be. People are quick to forget he inherited a god awful Habs team with many bad contracts and turned this team into a really competitive top of the Eastern conference team for the last few years now.

The only move with this option is to throw everything he can at John Tavares (if JT isn't resigned by then) and hope he signs with us. Other than that, there's nobody in the open market that will satisfy the #1 center need.
He could go the offer sheet route with an RFA but for the cash it would cost, it would seriously impact our future in terms of picks.

I can't agree with this quote - he didn't inherit a godawful team, he inherited a team that had a lowsy season before, BUT in a good position with a top 3 pick that summer and a core of young star players like Subban, Patches, Price - young complimentary players like Eller, Emelin and White - and up and coming prospects like Galchenyuk, Gallaagher, Beaulieau, Tinordi.
Bergevin's first mistake was hiring Therien when he had a nucleus like this - it was well documented from his days in Pittsburgh that Therien did not know how to bring up youngsters and get them over the hump of rookie to consistent contributor. His second mistake was then hiring Lefebreve in the AHL who had no experience in player development - he then proceeded to mismanage player contracts and assets (trading away picks) which ultimately has led us to where we are today - in the same position we were 6 years ago (just with fewer promising prospects and less picks).

At this point, he won't make any move at TDL, beside maybe Pleky as a rental... and will hope for signing JT on UFA. If he does that, he'll keep his job and if not, he will have until the 2019 draft to sink this team a little more and be dead gone. Hopefully Molson think with his head and hire Julien Brosebois and not Patrick Roy as the next GM. We need someone smart, not another egotrip!

The worst part of Berg... He stated that he cannot find a suitable Center for his team... who the hell would ever say this when you see what can be available against falling asstes like Paccioretty, Shaw Etc...
Here is a short list of Center's that can help MTL this off season (and forget about JT):
Against Assets: Perrault, Nyquist, Lindholm, Jenner, Nelson or
UFA this summer: Backlund Cgy, Statsny Stl, Filppula, or even GO BIG
RFA: Namesnikov, Larkin, Hertl, Anthanasious, Karlsson VG... If their team want to give them 5-6M/y... offer them 7M!... it will be better than Statsny that will cost the same!
