I never once disagreed that the Leafs will have to lose some guys. But it sure as hell won't be Matthews.. And to think that the guy that becomes a victim of the cap is just so so stupid.

Also, if this ridiculous trade happened, you aren't resigning all of Dubois/Panarin/Werenski/Murray and fitting under the cap. So as much as you want to believe everyone on your team would love to take a discount!! Take a step back. These guys want money. And it's extremely biased for you to think under the same circumstances, Columbus will find a way to fit everyone in, while the Leafs must trade their franchise player to do so.

I don't think the Jackets would be the top team to trade with. I'm just a fan. Arizona would be the best fit IMO for many reason.

You have to sign JVR, Bozak, Komarov Moore?, Nylander, Marner (in 2 years), Soshnikov? & Carrick. Yes lots of cap but if Matthews gets $10-$12 things could get interesting? Plus your D is not good. The justification for the trade is to get top line D & keep really good players. Remember Gretzky got traded. It's not impossible.

We. Don't. Have. To. Sign. Those. Guys.

We have internal options coming on defense, and could make other trades for defense that don't include giving away out best player. We don't need a #1D, we have one. We need a #2D. I'd rather trade a pick and prospect for Tanev. Then you have Rielly/Tanev/Liljegren/Dermott/Zaitsev/Borgman. That is really nice. Better than what PIT won the cup with last year.

I would personally accept this if I am TOR.

If I was the General Manager of CBJ, I wouldn't have made such a lucrative offer.
