If you're trying to acquire arguably the best defenceman in the world. Your top prospect would have to be included, Without Cale Makar I'd have to imagine Ottawa hangs up the phone. Jost, Barrie, Makar and a 1st and a conditional 2nd would be more in the ballpark in my opinion. I could be wrong, but if you wanna get ottawa listening, it'll take something of that magnitude to get their attention. Just my opinion

Fixed, i also think Compher's value is higher than Jost

There was a similar deal for Karlsson > Anaheim yesterday. I just don't think you give up your best defenceman (Barrie), then 2 1st rounders, then your top 2 prospects. Karlsson is obviously better than Barrie, he's a superstar, but the uprade isn't worth that.

One of the more realistic options for Karlsson that I've seen so far.

It is really fair value. However, I highly doubt Colorado will try to pick him him up cause the way I see it they’re still rebuilding. Wouldn’t be upset if another team gives up something similar tho

1. No way I make that trade if I'm Sakic and I'm trying to rebuild a team. Giving up 4 potentially elite or at least very good players plus another good player on top for one elite player is the height of stupidity. One player does not make a team and that would set the rebuild back tremendously.
2. Barrie is a long way from the Av's best D.
