Sabres need a good young prospect, good roster player and a first round pick this year and a conditional pick if he resigns with Pittsburgh before or during or after free agency. No bs. Games about when he signs.

Already getting a first and at least a 3rd....
Kane’s a rental, that’s fair as is. If he had some term left sure, but a rental LW isn’t costing a first+ and a solid young player.

Seems steep....

Any comparables for that on a rental?

A first rounder and a prospect is usually price for an impact F at the deadline.
I’m thinking Ladd to Chicago, Hanzel to the Wild. Staal to NYR. Perron to Pens
He’s not like Duchene who has term left.

Buffalo is asking too much, they may get it but not from the Pens I hope.

Especially with the reported baggage, whether BS or not

3rd round picks are useless. 2nd round picks are traded for bit players. a 1st and a prospect is specifically what i had in mind.

Word, probably should have quoted sabre1973 instead.
Late first (with lotto protection) and an almost ready prospect or under 25 contributor is fair

Like Sheary/Rust Young? Or like Guentzel young? Bc Guentzel alone is worth more than Kane I would think, as is Maatta. Maybe a Simon or Jarry?
Pens don’t have a lot of prospects....
