3way with ARZ and ANA

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 12, 2018
Published: Feb. 12, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
ANA gets- Patches and Byron(gives them goals on 3 lines and a 4th line thats solid by proxy for a playoff push and if it succeeds MTL gets a mid-late pick so its a gamble )

ARZ gets - two top D prospects on RD to grow into the weakest area in ARZ giving them a future top for possibility of OEL-Welinski,Chychrun-Juulsen plus our best Goalie prospect with good NHL numbers playing with injury ridden rosters .(3 top prospects from 2 systems ) and a conditional 1st in 2019

MTL Gets - Kossila,Schenn , 1st round ANA,1st round ARZ

if MTL still doesnt draw a top 3 pick with any of them we use our 2nd's to trade up and try aquiring Boqvist and Zadina (or Tkchuck whomever goes last ) as they are key youth pieces MTL could use especially Boqvist a goal scoring D with flare and puck moving skill compared to Karlsson who is about a year behind Dahlin development wise but the same age. we want Dahlin but if we cant Boqvist is the target
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Kossila, Kalle
  2. Welinski, Andy
  3. 2018 1st round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
ANA gives up 1/5 Point Per Game Centers in their Development
bringing in Henrique left Kossila without room to grow given ANA needs wingers who score goals MTL offer two that scored i believe it was 57/223 total goals MTL had last year and neither have played with a real top 6 center where as in ANA every Center you have was a top 6 center

this gives ANA for playoff push

Rakael-Getzlaf-Perry
Pacioretty-Kesler-Silfverberg
Ritchie-Henrique-Byron
Wagnar-Vermete-Kase
Brown giving you 4 solid playmaking lines and 3 with goal scorers .
ANA
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. Pacioretty, Max ($2,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
MTL retains cap for first round pick
trades 2 goal scorers for a playoff push .
(if it works MTL could be trading for a late draft pick if ANA makes a playoff push keep in mind )
2.
MTL
  1. Schenn, Luke
  2. 2018 1st round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
ARZ gets a conditional 2019 1st
if ARZ pick is top 3 then MTL exchanges its
latest first round pick of 2018 instead of 2019.

ARZ receives 2 RD top youth prospects from 2 teams to grow with OEL and Chychrun your future LD and get a top Goalie Prospect .

this leaves ARZ 3 top prospects , and a 1st round pick with the possiblity of it being this year if we do get top 3 in the lotto with it
3.
MTL
  1. Petan, Nicolas
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
MTL retains cap for a 2nd pick and Petan
(5'9 and unlikely to crack WPG lines with the players you got ahead of him plus your fans are always trading him in rental deals otherwise i wouldnt have known who he was TBH)
WPG
  1. Plekanec, Tomas ($3,000,000 retained)

ARZ would probably prefer to keep that 2018 1st. What ever prospect you propose to grow along with OEL, it's not happening since he's being shopped. And clearly you have a thing for Kosilla. If he's not good enough to make the Ducks team at 25 yrs old, then he's shouldn't be worthy of a Pacioretty return package.
greasy liked this.

Pacioretty alone is worth more then that return, he'll fetch at minimum a 1st round pick, a roster player and a top prospect, why would we give up Byron as well? keep adding!! Then there's that Schenn deal... LOL, a 5A in 51GP this season, 141P in 695GP career... we need puck moving D, not this bag of pucks. WPG deal is the only thing i see there that makes any sense.

schenn is just a warm body in the deal and to make this work we had to take on 1/3 RD so the youth we offered can be worked in
i took him not for his value but to make sure it worked for all 3 teams in their current situations .

so you are mad we got a 1st , TWO TOP PROSPECTS both CENTER and DEFENSE ?
you're joking right ?

also Patches and Byron 100% need to be gone this year
Drouin-Chucky's chemistry on PP brought us from 26th to 9th PP in the league .
i want Gallagher and Shaw to be the old guys on Offense its not a hard sell either .

if you think Patches is getting a roster player when they are heading to the playoffs you are just wrong
no trade deadline deals give up Roster Picks Period it is COUNTER PROUDUCTIVE and negates the point of the trade.

MTL is getting a 10% chance at a top 3 pick and guaranteed top 5 pick with ARZ 1st so i fear you didnt realize the importance and cost of giving up a
Dahlin , Boqvist ,Zadina ,Tkchuck or Svechnikov will bring .

this leaves MTL with 3 first rounders in the most stacked D draft since 2003 when NSH drafted Suter,Weber and Klein building the core for 5-10 years in 1 draft.
now MTL has the picks to come trade deadline possibly maneuver into 3 top 10 picks like BOS i believe 2 years back but with 4 seconds to chuck in the mix the odds of us upgrading increase.
this who build is Youth Oriented as our youth is all under 28 with Gallagher being the old Guy which is what we need.

given players like Anderson Mcdonald a scoring all hear Jr player is on a first year Rebuild team in which his team trade 18/23 roster players from the year before after going on a historic losing streak
Anderson success is over shadowed by their Failure as he's the only real star they landed with all those moves instead stock pileing picks for a long rebuild. so even if MTL doesnt move up in the first and has three first round top 15 picks and 4 second round picks we still can re-stock our depth pool completely .

also in this equation two first in the top 15 100% always means moving big name players
look at ARZ Stepan deal for the 6th overall picks last year now expect a guaranteed top 5 to cost a lot .
sending Patchs to ARZ made no sense as they need RD and goalies not forwards they've actually been dealing forwards trying to get RD .
offering them 2 top youth prospects and a top Goalie prospect was the only way i say them giving up a guaranteed player of either Dahlin,Zadina,Tkchuck,Svechnikov or Boqvist .

ANA to give up Kossila and Welinski with their first was a lot to ask and a gamble because if our trade helps them make the playoff we could be looking at a 15th-31st pick hence why i stock piled 2nd picks to trade up .

MTL in this avoids a rebuilt and is better by proxy

imagine Dahlin and Zadina here with Lunderstrom or Tkchuck and Boqvist with Dobson
its just to good to pass up
