One thing I do know is Patch has been traded over a million times on this site. But what if he is not traded? why not. A 30 goal scorer in your line up for another full year at a very fair cap hit. Then re-sign him or trade him next year. Who knows, all I know is my focus would be on our defence and obtaining a legit #1 C. Some people say, ya use Patch to go get that C or D you require. But if we get a legit C, Patch on his wing would be awesome. There are 3 C`s and 5 D`s out there in UFA land. Not named JT or John Carlson either. Because those two will get a boat load of money.

We understand but for once we have a great bait that could land a more electrical player in MTL... why not!
And the team can still look better than now with couple of great UFA signature (I know it will cost more to bring them here in MTL... I know!)

I think Patches value in terms of STL pieces would be Thomas + Blais + 1st/2nd.

Thomas, Dunn, and Kyrou looks too high even with the 2nd rounder coming back. At least 2/3 of those guys should be in STL's lineup starting next year, and all 3 could end up being Blues for many years... these aren't lower-tier prospects, they have plenty of NHL upside - a lot to offer for a couple years of a top LW, especially considering we have a bunch of options at LW going forward and center will be a hole to fill (Thomas). If the Blues were playing more impressive hockey this year, I'd be okay with trading away some high profile prospects for Patches, I think he'd be a great addition to the Blues, but now doesn't seem like the time to go for it.

I think the Jets are scary enough, but if they moved Petan + Roslovic for Patches, they would become the team to beat in the west for sure.

Interesting read. Good food for thought. Did not view Jets that way but after further looking at their roster and standing, Patch would be a very good fit there.

100% agree. Why is MTL fans so horny to trade this guy. Im a Hab fan and I hope they dont trade him. Leave him for one year and if they are in the same position next year, then yes trade him. But trading a 5x 30 goal scorer before he turns 30 is bad hockey sense.

Well I am not so sure about the word you used but yes Patch has been talked about. My sense after reading pretty much all MTL posts is not so much they dislike Patch, it is more using him as a very valuable trade chip to go get 3 or 4 good players to replace him. Personally I would not trade Patch unless an amazing offer came along.

This is my sense from reading the many Patch trades. It is not like people dislike him as a player but more so, to use him as a very valuable trade bait to go get 3 or 4 good players to help turn this team around.
