Idk, apparently Dorian wants a 1st, A top prospect and a depth piece, they’d probably take salary honestly, with this so called “depth piece”. But even at that, they only have a 3 mill cap space if this trade went through.

salary and cap hit are two different things. salary is how much he is ACTUALLY paid each year where as cap hit is an average of the entire contract. ex. leafs gave Marleau a "front loaded deal" meaning most the money was paid to him in the first two years where as in the 3rd year he makes considerably less. but the cap hit stays the same throughout the contract

I think Ottawa can do better. DeSmith at age 26 might be a career AHLer, Sprong is a prospect and that 25th pick is iffy also. And Brassard is signed for next year.
