Description

So it’s clear Brassard is on our radar, and I can confirm that. I’ve seen a lot of Brassard(retained) for Sheary, Gustavsson, 1st for him. I’ll tell you the problem: Brassard’s salary is 3.5m for this year and Sheary’s is 3m. This means OTT only loses 500k in salary. The goal for OTT is to lose salary. This is why I suggested Sheary for a 2nd, and then: 2018 PIT 1st, 2018 2nd(unknown team, LAK?), Gustavsson for Brassard(25% retention). OTT instead loses about 3m in salary(retention) rather then losing only about 500k.

That’s all I had to say.

I really hope this happens .... It does make sense that trade

I'm not totally sold on needing to go get Brassard, but if it happens, you definitely have the right idea. It's tough to make it work without a third team involved.

GMJR said the most interesting thing at the end of the interview with Yohe the other day ... " i dont think id say desperate" " we have 4 C's that do the job" THEN AT THE VERY END HE SAID... " Obviously the top 2 guys ,well I dont worry about them.. but adding a guy as insurance to them would be important for us"
MY MEANING to this is ... GMJR wants a C in case Sid or Geno are out for a game or 2 that is able to play C as a TOP6 ?

I’d say watch out for LAK/OTT/BUF/NYR. You can guess which players are going.

I think we can do better than brassard. He's good but nothing special. I'm saying this because Ottawa is putting a hefty price tag on him. In my opinion I'd rather look elsewhere if that's the case.

We won’t be able to do better than Brassard. He’s the best available. This isn’t NHL18.

The fact you're saying he's the best available is why I'm telling you this isn't some video game rating. Young guys are given worse overalls in those games. But let's be honest, someone like Hayes is cheaper and won't cost as much and has more potential.

Really ?? I think IMO he is about as perfect as ther is , as a 3rd line C for us (that is available)
