No Way this happens.Way too much to give up for a 1 year rental. Maybe Forbort and a 2nd, but no way Kempe is going.

And how much did Washington pay to get Shattenkirk? Zach Sanford, Brad Malone, conditional draft pick, round 1 pick in the 2017 draft (Morgan Frost) and round 2 pick in the 2019 draft.
KingsGKG liked this.

Different Scenario. Washington was a Cup Contender and was going all in. St. Louis fleeced them. Just because someone overpays for someone doesn't mean everyone should overpay for everything. I love my Kings, but they are a coin flip on whether they make the playoffs. Will Kane help them...Yes, but at what cost? Kings were burned on Sekera and Lucic deals in which they gave up a bunch and didn't get the return because they were short term rentals. So if the Kings are going to trade for a guy in Kane, who most likely will not resign, they are going to give back something that wont kill them. That is 2nd/3rd picks and average defensmen. Right now, Kempe is in their future plans. My thought anyhow.

WOW that is a great return, if Botterill can make that happen then anything is possible. I'd be happy with just Kempe or with Clague and a 1st

I have to laugh, you know Lombardi offered DATM Pearson, 1st, 3rd and Matt Greene for Moulson and Ehrhoff. That 1st that was not traded became Kempe. Sort of Ironic, that to get that 1st now so much has to be given up now.
