I would say this is more of an offseason deal. As both teams would need to make space for the respective player coming back, EDM for LHD, MTL for LW

And I would definitely consider RNH + Lucic for Shaw + Lehkonen + 2nd, although that’s a crap ton of salary cap coming to MTL

i'd do it if we can swap DLR and Slepyshev (swap our 2nd round disappointment for your 3rd round one mostly because he's a right handed player and we need depth like that at the AHL for Laval)

Dump Sekera and Benning who imo have looked horrid, in game, with stats, advanced stats.

Ultimately I’d take this deal because Alzner has less signing bonuses, term, less money, an easier contract to trade.

Alzner is a really good defenseman, just when he’s not doing too much, unfortunately he’s paid like that, to do more than defend. He’d help the PK for sure.

Lucic already said that MTL was his second choice when he signed with EDM, and seeing that his best years were under Claude Julien, he could see his best chances at returning to form be with his old BOS coach.

That's a really good point! Plus, he's always been training with Brendan Gallagher during summer.
