No chance penguins would retain 1.5 mil for multiple years

Adding Callahan is a waste if Gorton acquires Kyrou. It's not just getting players; keep in mind, roster spots and overall roster count.

Hagelin would need to be a full contractual obligation, without a dime being retained by Pittsburgh.

Your Holden and Pavalec deals make sense, though I think other teams (Vancouver, Arizona or Buffalo) might be better destinations for both and would yield better draft options.

Reconsider adding Vesey to your Dallas deal with Grabner for Honka, as Gorton might be able to draw another player in return in addition to Honka.

I don't see Sergachev being the price for McDonagh; eight years ago, Sather stole McDonagh from Bob Gainey in Montreal..doubtful Yzerman lets him steal Sergachev in the same fashion. And as I said, Callahan would be a wasteful grab both in cap usage and roster space.

All of these are skewed in the Rangers favor. I don't see them being realistic.

Which ones?

-The Zucarrello one for a 2nd rounder not even in the AHL yet and a guy who's best known for his speed but is coming off back to back ACL surgeries? That's probably an undersell.

-Trading Desharnais who has more 6 more points in 3 less games and doesn't have Crosby/Malkin or Kessel to support him. And costs 3 mil cheaper. And plays center? That's a fair deal,

-Grabner (who's worth a 1st) for Honka, an offensive defensive who happens to only have 4 points in 30 games, and can barely crack 15 minutes from Ken Hitchcock? That's a fair deal.

-Upgrading from Vesey to Callahan and from Sergachev to McDonagh while remaining cap neutral and maximizing your cup window? It's a tough deal to take but I think both teams strongly consider it. That Callahan contract is rough and Lightning will have 8 guys making over 60% of their cap if they try to resign everybody. The cup window is closing.

-Nash, who demands a 1st round pick and top prospect +, You'll notice from the insiders that they're saying teams are willing to meet the asking price for Nash, but aren't even willing to give a 1st for Kane. I'm not even asking for a 1st here. Just Tolvy. It's a fair deal.
