Description
....We're buyers and we're sellers.
Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Hoffman, Mike
  2. Karlsson, Erik
Additional Details:
Cap dumps, Hoffman especially, he's even on trade bait.
OTT
  1. Blueger, Teddy
  2. Cole, Ian ($900,000 retained)
  3. Hagelin, Carl ($2,000,000 retained)
  4. Jarry, Tristan
  5. 2018 1st round pick (PIT)
  6. 2019 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Hagelin and Cole are retained because Ottawa is trading Hoffman and maybe karlsson in the first place so that they can have cap space to sign guys like stone. Jarry sweetens any deal but this one especially for Ottawa with their goaltending issues. Not only is he a lot cheaper then the goalies they have now but he could possibly step up as their number one goalie right now and stay for years to come.
2.
PIT
  1. Fleury, Haydn
  2. Nedeljkovic, Alex
  3. 2018 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Pens get good prospect goalie for losing Jarry. Canes get more offence like they want and good bottom defence. Let's be honest those top left defensive spots are locked up by Hanifan and Slavin anyway so a good bottom guy like hunwick just works.
CAR
  1. Hörnqvist, Patric
  2. Hunwick, Matt
Additional Details:
Hornqvist is a rental. We just don't need hunwick getting paid more than 2 million to be our 7th guy. (Cap Dump)
3.
PIT
  1. 2018 7th round pick (ARI)

If they trade EK they want picks and prospects out the ass, and they won't want to take needless cap bk. also what are you talking about calling Hoffman and EK a cap dump???

(Cap Dump) their combined salary is over 11.5 million dollars. Compared to paying hagelin, jarry, and Cole around 4 million combined. That's 7.5 million gained in cap space. Plenty of money to resign their players, especially stone, who will get a lot. Bleuger and jarry and two firsts, those sound like 4 good prospects to me.

Karlsson ( two top roster players, high end prospect, a 1st plus another pick.)
Hoffman ( roster player, top prospect, 1st round pick)

Those are probably the asking prices and I don't see you giving up the players they're asking for.

Jarry played what 19 NHL games? I doubt they see him as their starter right now.
Blueger is 23 and still in the AHL wouldn't really call him high end
And 2 late 1st picks.

Ottawa can do better

laugh laugh That Erik Karlsson+Hoffman is a royal laugh It would at least take Maatta going the other way as well no way that garbage package lands both Karlsson and Hoffman.

You do realize jarry has been successful in every league hes played in, including the NHL. He was the top rated goalie in his draft too. And hes still on his ELC which means hes cheaper than the goalies ottawa has. Which would actually allow this trade to open up even more than 7.5 million in cap space once they send down condon. Of course bleuger isnt going to crack the Pens line up. Pens are stacked. Doesnt mean hes a bad prospect. Hes been great at every level and hes a second round pickn, who cares how old he is, marchessault was like 28 when he came into the NHL with tons of production. 1sts are 1sts. You know who was a late 1st? Brock Boeser.

Actually he was 3rd behind Eric Comrie and Zach Fucale.
Also Karlsson and Hoffman aren't cap dumps. They're elite players. Cap dump would be Hagelin . Sure Boeser was drafted 23rd. What are the chances of late 1st round picks that turn out like him? Not many. Also Marchessault put up mull toole 60 pt seasons in the AHL. Not saying Bleuger won't be good but he's not comparable to Marchessault.

Ottawa can get so much more for just karlsson

That depends on which scout ranking youre looking at. And (Cap Dump) their combined salary is over 11.5 million dollars. Compared to paying hagelin, jarry, and Cole around 4 million combined.
