I like it... maybe could squeeze a higher pick than a 7 though?

As a leaf fan I'd hate to make this trade but if the leafs want Tanev this is probably the price.

Honestly Liljegren and Leivo should be enough.

Leivo seems to be the "throw in" on all leaf deals... like Granlund on Vancouver. Liljegren is still 4-5 years away and may never develop (but great upside)

But you can say that bout 1st overall picks. And leivo for someof us may not be the focal point of a trade but almost every leaf fan knows he could one day be a 40-50 point player with the right centre.

Sure. It's Tanev that is always the throw in in any Leaf trade. Trying to justify the trade by saying such a non fact that Liljegren is still 4-5 years away. He's one of two junior aged players in the AHL. Tanev doesn't help the Leafs much, pretty injuries and his OK playing, he isn't worth the potential of Liljegren.

Wish Canuck would realize there are 29 trading partners besides the Leafs, but it appear no other teams have interest in Tanev, If Leivo was traded for Tanev, they could just exchange seats in the press box.
