No way you get Dumo for Zach Smith. No way Pens trade a D not named Cole or Hunwick anyways.

I know it is a top 10 protected, that's why I thought Ottawa might want it back after the season that they've had.

I was considering Cole but then I remembered the multiple posts that I've seen saying that Dumo was the worst player on the 2016-17 Stanley Cup Pens team.

Oh man were those posts wrong lol. Dumo was a horse in Letangs absence. He doesn't put up points but he eats up minutes against quality competition.

so being that it's a 2018 1st top 10 protected, might be a little bit much being a good prospect like Batherson, who i see being a good NHL player one day, plus Pageau for that 2019 1st.

Still a no. Really depends on what Ottawa does at the deadline, but chances are that they'll be a bad team again next year. If I'm Joe, I'm holding onto that pick, unless we're talking Karlsson. Obviously a bigger deal with more pieces, but that's the only time I even think about including that pick.

Right. They can use it in 2018 (top-10 protected), or leave it entirely unprotected next year. And again, depending on the deadline, it could be a rough year for them next year as well.

No chance STL adds to Schwartz for Hoffman - just doesn't make sense in terms of value or needs. No way Schwartz is moved at all.

What's your take on the value of Batherson compared to Kerfoot or Timmins?

All things considered, I think Schwartz is worth more than either. Similar offensive numbers but he's younger and his contract runs longer.

Timmins and Batherson are about the same value with Timmins maybe being slightly a bit more. Kerfoot has come into his own as a solid top 6 player and Colorado understands that, I see his value worth a bit more than Pageau
