nah I think Blueger is pretty spot on. remember when Rust, Wilson and Kuhnackl had taken 2 year 1 way contracts for 680k I believe a few years back after their 2 ways expired. seems pretty on par with that. first 1 way contracts in pens org are usually less thank 1 mill for the late AHL call ups

If you think anyone is taking Zaitsevs contract, and giving you anything in return, you're nuts.

I agree, Nichushkin has 4 points in 22 games this year. And Johns is a #5-6 D.
Pass.

Devils, Flyers are in a similar boat with that. I would say that offer is extremely fair for what you'd be getting. This isn't going go to be low-ball dealing. If you want an elite player, you're going to have to give up significant pieces.</div></div>
Okay let me throw a scenario at you.
Leafs don't sign, don't trade, he sits, leafs get nothing in a year where they aren't winning anything in the postseason with that defense. Then they have 3 to sign next year and you best believe AZ will offer sheet the bajesus out of Matthews.
Everyone knows Dubas NEEDS to trade him, pretty obvious they cant afford him. That's not leverage.

Maatta is absolutely not on the same level as DeAngelo. I don't know how you even came to that conclusion. Explain. Maatta has been top 4 for years. DeAngelo can hardly crack top 4 on a bad NY defense.

That's actually not the case, contrary to everyone'e opinion Sprong has improved defensively. He's looked a little akward in trying to acclimate offensively to the NHL game. And he's a RW. Look at whos in front of him, and ask yourself, who would you play Sprong over? Rust? Hornqvist? Kessel?
He's only on the roster because of his waiver eligibility. He's not ready for the NHL.

Kapenen has nowhere near the scoring pedigree Sprong has, but I get what youre saying about the value outside of Pitt. And a -40 point average winger and a 40+ point average center are absolutely not equal.

Manson is coming off a 37 point season vs Maatta's 29. So I wouldn't say far better, if even better at all. I like Olli but Manson would be my preferred choice. One hes right handed, two, like you said, hes faster. Being faster is kindof a good thing to be at the moment in the NHL.

I agree with all but the Manson Maatta debate. Manson is really good. But the value overage of Sprong over first and brassard over cogs make up for it.

lol mad bro?
First of all, go check the stats on Grabner. Last I checked he scored more than Hags, and is the same speed, and is cheaper.
Second of all, the Pens have made a habit of reclamation projects being successful. (i.e. Oleksiak, Shultz, Sheahan) so its really not a terrible idea. Low risk, high reward.

True, although you have both parties retaining 2m. Would that not be a null point?
edit* I realized Matts only has 1 year vs Frolik's 2 remaining. So it would not be null. NYR comes out ahead next year. I get what you were doing now.

I like a lot of these, fair for both sides. However, with CAL, why have them retain on Frolik? NYR would do well with a pick from them instead IMO.

Phil goes home?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>meull</b></div><div>I know Phil is quite a bit better than Vanek, just using that FA signing as a similar situation to the theoretical trade. I think at best Phil could slot in where we normally have Granlund, so he'd be with Zucker and Staal, but that line would probably be terrible on defense. He might pair nicely with Koivu and Greenway, or Koivu and Granlund though. Hard to say, plus we'd be dealing Coyle at a low point in his value. He's kind of injury prone so we probably haven't even seen a peak season from Coyle yet, he's literally nursing two surgically repaired wrists after this season at the moment and that was after missing a 1/3 of the year with a broken leg. Poor kid cant catch a break so the brass in the Wild org will probably wait to see if there are better hockey trades available that don't lose us a top pairing shut down d man.</div></div>
Thank you for providing an intelligent response lol. I just feel like Minni is in shake up mode. That's the only reason I had them taking Kessel.

Jack Eichel has to have someone to play with. Sure Sheary is streaky, but Botterill had a lot to do with obtaining and signing Sheary to the contract. His opinion on Sheary is obviously higher than yours.
