If duchene and barassard require a 3 way trade Kessel is untradable. The value needs to better from Minnesota

How is Duchene related to this? And Brassard had to be a 3 way due to in season cap implications. Neither of those are comparable trades.

Brodin is a solid top 4 on a great contract, they take Hunwicks contract, and Coyle is a solid player. How is that not sufficient value? You wont get full value for Phil in any trade.

And thats why theyll never trade him. Hopefully GMJR can put it together like you and me have that his full value is not just going to come along(....unless someone's really desperate).

Minnesota is no longer a retirement home for aging vets. Remember when we had Vanek? Kessel experiment would end in a similar result. The Wild are looking to get younger and faster, not grab someone who fits exceptionally well on the Pens but is questionable with unknowns like not having 2 of the best centers in the world to play with. Bad trade from the Minnesota side 100%, more value my ass.

This is all speculative. He may not get traded at all.

However if he does, youd be clearing space for Guentzel's 6 million or so coming up next year. So its not completely out of the question. A two for one for Phil would be a fantastic return in my opinion IF Phil were to ever get traded. And Minni is the only team I could ever see wanting him. They lack superstars, and their new GM surely wants to make his mark on the team.

You can't say that because Kessel has had success on more than just one team.

Phil is a tad bit better than Vanek lol, hes only 30, hes stupid fast, and he produces away from Sid and Geno on his own line with Sheahan before Brassard arrived, don't just assume everyone's numbers are bloated from the big two. He has insane numbers with less than superstar centers (Bozak, Sheahan, Brassard)

Guentzel shouldnt get anywhere near that and if he does then it should be goodbye Guentzel not Kessel because Kessel is better. Unless Guentzel starts producing like he did these past playoffs, all year long.

Who cares about regular season production? He has back to back insane playoff years. If Evander Kane can get 7 million and you don't think Guentzel deserves 6 then ive lost all faith in this debate with you.

I know Phil is quite a bit better than Vanek, just using that FA signing as a similar situation to the theoretical trade. I think at best Phil could slot in where we normally have Granlund, so he'd be with Zucker and Staal, but that line would probably be terrible on defense. He might pair nicely with Koivu and Greenway, or Koivu and Granlund though. Hard to say, plus we'd be dealing Coyle at a low point in his value. He's kind of injury prone so we probably haven't even seen a peak season from Coyle yet, he's literally nursing two surgically repaired wrists after this season at the moment and that was after missing a 1/3 of the year with a broken leg. Poor kid cant catch a break so the brass in the Wild org will probably wait to see if there are better hockey trades available that don't lose us a top pairing shut down d man.

Gee, so has, Thomas Vanek!

It's not that I'm saying Phil = Vanek, I'm just saying he'd be expected to have a much larger role with the Wild vs. the Pens, and in the past that did not work out all that great for him. He would need to be top 6 here and probably only works with a handful of forward pairings on our roster.

Lol i hate that kane contract, its a joke. He has never been considered anywhere near the top 10 of the NHL's best goal scorers. JVR who scores more than kane is asking for around 6 million which is reasonable for him. Kane isnt as good and shouldve got around 5 million or less. The problem was though that San jose had a lot of cap space and kane was heading into a UFA bidding war.

No source, just he knows that Sheary gets his points from playing with Crosby and Kessel 62% of the time and yet has only 12 assists. A statue would have more points than that.

Jack Eichel has to have someone to play with. Sure Sheary is streaky, but Botterill had a lot to do with obtaining and signing Sheary to the contract. His opinion on Sheary is obviously higher than yours.

Thank you for providing an intelligent response lol. I just feel like Minni is in shake up mode. That's the only reason I had them taking Kessel.
