Phil goes home?

Unless Guentzel starts producing like he did these past playoffs, all year long.</div></div>
Who cares about regular season production? He has back to back insane playoff years. If Evander Kane can get 7 million and you don't think Guentzel deserves 6 then ive lost all faith in this debate with you.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>meull</b></div><div>Minnesota is no longer a retirement home for aging vets. Remember when we had Vanek? Kessel experiment would end in a similar result. The Wild are looking to get younger and faster, not grab someone who fits exceptionally well on the Pens but is questionable with unknowns like not having 2 of the best centers in the world to play with. Bad trade from the Minnesota side 100%, more value my ass.</div></div>
Phil is a tad bit better than Vanek lol, hes only 30, hes stupid fast, and he produces away from Sid and Geno on his own line with Sheahan before Brassard arrived, don't just assume everyone's numbers are bloated from the big two. He has insane numbers with less than superstar centers (Bozak, Sheahan, Brassard)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div>And thats why theyll never trade him. Hopefully GMJR can put it together like you and me have that his full value is not just going to come along(....unless someone's really desperate).</div></div>
This is all speculative. He may not get traded at all.
However if he does, youd be clearing space for Guentzel's 6 million or so coming up next year. So its not completely out of the question. A two for one for Phil would be a fantastic return in my opinion IF Phil were to ever get traded. And Minni is the only team I could ever see wanting him. They lack superstars, and their new GM surely wants to make his mark on the team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div>If duchene and barassard require a 3 way trade Kessel is untradable. The value needs to better from Minnesota</div></div>
How is Duchene related to this? And Brassard had to be a 3 way due to in season cap implications. Neither of those are comparable trades.
Brodin is a solid top 4 on a great contract, they take Hunwicks contract, and Coyle is a solid player. How is that not sufficient value? You wont get full value for Phil in any trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>biglite351</b></div><div>Rust - I view it as the opposite, having been snake bitten by Sheary's contract I think that Rutherford will be offering considerable less than Sheary got. Plus, in Sheary's contract year he has 23g 53pts, Rust is 13/38 (though more useful away from the puck). 3X$2.25M maybe, 2x$2.0M possible.
Oleksiak - No reason to give him over $1.5M even on multi-year deal. he is a dependable 3rd pair guy, but doesn't do anything specifically well. 2 or 3 @ $1.3M.
Sheahan - He is a 4C that can play 3C short term if there are injuries. The Pens can qualify him, but they don't need to. They can offer whatever they want. 13g 45 pts over the last 2 year, 7g 23pt average. Blah offense, good D, solid FO. They should offer 3x$2M. Don't forget, Detroit dumped him for a 3rd, and he didn't do too much to prove that to be a wrong move.</div></div>
Rust will get that I promise. He has that intangible factor that coaches and GM's love. He is significantly more valuable than Sheary ever was to the staff regardless of points. The cap is going up, he'll get paid.

Way too much or not, Sheahan will be paid that if he stays. Unless they don't qualify him and he walks, but comes back to take less, and I don't see any universe where he would ever do that. That is the minimum amount for a qualifying off for him based on Capfriendly's qualifying calculator.

Maybe too much for Oleksiak (probably a 1x1.2-1.5 prove it deal) and Sheahan (qualifying offer would be 1x2.25) but Rust will probably get at least 3x3 like Sheary got if not more.

I think that's a bit of an overpayment for a Fabbri that has barely played in 2 years. Injury concern has to factor into the cost.

I wanted to say that would never happen so bad but I think if you throw in a 1st and that's completely plausible. Vegas has to start being bad for their futures sake. Unless their GM is really dumb enough to try to go for it.

Werenski is one of the best up and coming defensemen in the league. Who would ever trade an aging center on a long term deal at a crazy high cap hit for a 20 year old stud first line d-man on an elc. Get real.

Matt didn't want to leave you know that right? Hes on record saying it. But family comes first and family wanted to go home. If you think he couldn't come back at the trade deadline you don't know GMJR very well.

why do all sabres fans overvalue kane so much? gms aren't as apt to overpay at the deadline as much as past years especially for rentals. with all the young talent in the league now 1st rounders are a lot more valuable than they used to be.

Literally the only trade there that's plausible it the LA trade. The other two are heavily one sided. No matter how valuable Karlsson is, unless he does a sign and trade, they would never get full value for him.
