If this panned out, I would be pretty satisfied. I'm not sure what plekanec has left to offer, but I don't see him play often. Plus his cap hit is enormous. You literally have to move someone out to bring him in, and is that really worth it? The playoffs are a meat grinder for defenseman, simply adding Grabner and not trading Hunwick may be the best way to go. Add to the rangers deal and get Desharnais if needed.

The Penguins have a late first rounder, which is what Grabner should be traded for, straight up. Don't need Corrado or Dipauli, just the pick, and 6th rounder is staying put. Grabner has scored 50 even strength goals since the start of last season, he's worth that late 1st.
