HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT MONTREAL?

Created by: Doug7004
Team: 2017-18 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 22, 2018
Published: Feb. 22, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So Montreal, would MB do this! Ottawa is one of only a few teams, that might roll the dice on Webers contract (disregarding current injury) as it becomes less salary oriented, and with Ottawa it's about real $ paid as they are unlikely to spend to the cap! A hell of a price to pay for Karlsson!

Once again, i don't see why Ottawa would trade him.

Once again Bobby Ryan, Eric Karlsson and Jean Gabriel Pageu aren't being dealt to a team that's not going to be making the playoffs this year. And i'm pretty sure Montreal is on Karlssons no trade list any ways.

Eugene looking to ship out $ and not wanting to face the upcoming contract of Karlsson. (will try and justify his having an off year to dump him). Looking to ship B. Ryan out in the deal as his is a tough contract! Everything I've seen and heard has them insisting on the two of them in a package or won't even consider the deal!

Bergevin is on a short leash; he's been told he's not allowed to make any trades lol (that's the rumor) so I don't see something of this magnitude happening... but even then I don't think he's that stupid... is he?

Why would playoffs matter to a deal where both teams are out of the conversation. All of the above have term/control beyond this year (no rentals), and as this is really all about future financial considerations. You have NO idea who is on anyones list, and lists change. . . . .it's all about money!

That's an absurd rumour. What's not absurd is that Dudley calls more of the shots now.

If Erik Karlsson is dealt it will be either to Tampa or Vegas in my honest opinon, Fat chance MB is going to give up the pieces for Karlsson when he has zero chnce of competing this year plus giving up futures like he would need to just doesn't make any sense. Karlsson will be a shell of his former self getting paid big money and probably never live up to that contract.

I'll try to find the article for you to read... I'm not saying it's true (or not true) I'm just saying some sports writer put it out there, and it had to come from somewhere (hence rumor) whether there is any truth to it or not... I don't know...

It's per Georges Laraque who said he heard it from a "reliable source" take it for what it's worth...

I wasn't saying that I didn't believe it's out there, but no GM would/could accept that kind of limit. It's also not Montreal's history to meddle in hockey operations, which is perhaps the problem. But Rick Dudley and Scott Mellanby are definitely playing bigger roles these days.

This trade definetly doesn't make sense for MTL. They're worse than before. No thanks
