They would probably ask for a young roster defenseman as well. McNabb, Theodore, Schmidt, Miller maybe

They're giving up Karlsson. Erik Karlsson. They're going to ask for the world in return and won't trade him unless they get it.

Okay... sure... that's what some hockey writer who gets paid by the click says Ottawa wants to get for Erik Karlsson, with a $40M sandbag.

Name a player that package wouldn't bring back, though. I'll start: Crosby.

This is from a sports app and I see where they coming from. Bobby Ryan’s contract is impossible to trade for assets, while if u package it with karlsson, u get assets for karlsson and away from Ryan

Suzuki and Tuch are two recent first round picks, doing very well, one in the NHL, and one still in juniors. Adding two future first round picks, I really think you could get Kessel, Malkin, Ovechkin, Holtby, Carlson, or Lundqvist. Four years ago, that would have been a great deal for Karlsson and Ryan. Right now Ryan plays 14 minutes a night and is on pace for thae league average of 30 points. Karlsson is closing in on a top ten spot among defensemen in scoring, but there are only two players worse than him at plus/minus. Yes, he's reportedly playing through an ankle injury that's not entirely healed yet. But should he be?
