seems about right. but lets say nashville comes in and says they want plekanecs and offer a 2nd rd pick, and so do the jets offer a 2nd rd pick, then who ever offers more will get him, because the market is so thin for centermen at the trade deadline

I agree, Nic Petan and a conditional 3rd/4th with the condition possibly turning the pick into a 2nd if the Jets go to the SCF sounds fai.
Same goes for Nashville with Aberg or Yakov Trenin and the same with the pens with Sheary but a lower pick.

seems about right. i think mtl will try and go for a 1st rd pick, like vermette in 2015 or Hanzal last year. who ever offers the highest, they'll get him. and its 3mill cap space that montreal retains, his actual salary that the team that traded for him takes is broken down, so the team that acquires him actually pays him very little

3 million for a 35-year-old, sounds like a fine contract and with NSH, PIT, WPG, and some other teams wanting a center like him, I think we might be able to obtain a late 1st.

WIN definitely has the assets to be buyers at the deadline. if they don't want to give up picks, how about 1 for 1 with B.Lemieux? smile

Lemieux isn't quite the value of what MTL wants in return. Petan, Copp, Appleton (Top AHLer) are what Montreal is looking for, at the very least in return. But 1 for 1 Plekanec for Roslovic for Stanley just because of WPG's Stanley Cup chances.

I would take Lemieux waayyy before Copp. Petan I would stay away from, is one of those guys who's too good for the AHL, but can never crack the NHL, and he's short...5'9''. Appleton is interesting! seeing he was only a 6th rd pick maybe Habs could sqeeze a bit more of the deal?

With the Brassard trade now it is just NSH and WPG
