I wish...
Trade includes Mantha, but was unable to add him in the trade since he will be RFA. He is showed as being signed as RFA.
For the picks included in my trade, I am not sure if I managed to balance it out or not. Let me know in tne comments !
Andrew Shaw placed on LTIR as a way to make him disappear from the cap. Trading him for picks to any team could make sense.
Matt Moulson will surely be bought out by Buffalo at the end of the season. Therefore he would be UFA.

Mantha is a rfa, you really think he signs an agreement for 3.5 for 2 years and detroit lets him walk. No that doesn't happen. Still ill give you credit nothing short of 14 mil will get tavares to even look at montreal.

Could not add Mantha in the trade as he will be RFA, and therefore does not show in capfriendly's trade list.
Yup, betting Manta would sign a bridge deal for 2 years like chucky did after his entry contract was up.

Dude we're not giving up Mantha for Pacioretty, And no way Mantha signs for that low try closer to $5 million to $5.5 million especially for a 2 year bridge deal you're way off.

Detroit isnt giving up mantha to lose patches in 2 seasons to ufa. Thats crazy

Detroit of course, would make sure that Patches will sign a contract extension right after acquiring him. Or else I agree, the trade would make no sense...

I believe patches is willing to forgo being a UFA. He is a family guy and will not want his family to go through that.

for the bridge deal, Take a look at Galchenyuk.
MTL signed him to a 2 year bridge deal only 3 years ago. And the deal was for AAV of 2.8
Take a look at their points numbers. Pretty similar at the same age. And Chucky is an overall 3rd pick. Mantha is an overall 20th pick...
A 2 year bridge at 3.25 per year looks pretty sound to me...

You might be right about not giving Mantha up, but RFA years are restricted and Mantha is still a year from arbitration. All Detroit HAS to do, is qualify him for under $1M. If they want to go the bridge route, $3.25M is perfectly reasonable.
The only way Mantha gets $5M, is on a longer term that buys up some of his UFA years, or via an offer sheet.

Doesn't look like that much fun for Montreal if Komarov and Moulsen are on the team. Sure Tavares would be very displeased too, so much so he isn't signing with Montreal.
