ottawa is a mess with a cheapskate owner. we have an owner who will spend and two legitimate centers, including one who's a superstar. and karlsson was the driving force for a weak roster going to OT in game 7 of ECF last year. he alone makes us a competitive team in a division with 3 good teams, 3 rebuilding teams (detroit, ottawa, montreal) and whatever the hell florida is doing. i am more of the opinion that it is not market value than it's too much. they won't want okposo at that salary in a rebuild. that's the deal breaker.

Okposo's base salary this year is 1 mill then 3 mill for then next couple seasons, drops to 2 then 4 in his last season in this contract. The cap hit is inflated because of the bonuses tacked on
