Okay. Fair enough. I just changed the deal. Added Nashville's 2018 1st and Jokijarhu. That's 7 pieces and 3 first round picks.

You cant afford to resign him without trading kane, toews, keith or seabrooke. No one wants seabrooke with that terrible contract. They won't move kane. Toews maybe but 10.5 for 5 more years is alot. Keith is affordable so you have a shot moving him i guess.

For a team like Chicago Karlsson is the last person they would go after. He costs too cap and assets. Chicago really only has Debrincat as a bright young star and Schmaltz so they need to keep the firsts and Jokiharju because he is one of the few good defence prospects they have. There is no situation that Chicago should be trading firsts right now because of the team trend.

This is basically FOUR 1st round picks +3rd +5th for Erik Karlsson on the last year of his contract. I'm sorry but that is not worth it. You won't see any team in the league giving up four 1st round picks for one player.
Not to mention the Blackhawks will then have trouble resigning Schmaltz and DeBrincat the following years if they do actually resign Karlsson.

laugh Hawks don't have the pieces for Karlsson, Bowman let Hartman go because he knew he couldn't resign him. Good luck thinking the Hawks can afford Karlsson long term not with the $12-$13 million he's seeking.

LOL you're oblivious. Bowman didn't trade Hartman because he cant resign him. Hartman won't get more than $3M on his next deal and the Hawks have like $16M in cap space next year. They would have had zero problem resigning him.
