If its top 3 protected, it would be if the sabres lose lottery. Either way, absolutely not. Right now, we are picking 5th when we lose yet another lottery, which means tkachuk, boqvist, or hughes. Then we are adding alexander nylander and for some reason ristolainen- for william nylander. Thats not even close to reasonable.

As a leafs fan who loves Nylander, I'd still do that trade. I think your undervaluing Risto and we'd love to take him off your hands. (and that draft pick)

Not at that price. Maybe if you switch out risto with scandella. Over-payment by buffalo as it is right now.

edit: we don't need a cap dump like krueger if we aren't dumping cap in that deal.

Didnt see that. Just realized it when i saw dahlins name. Theres supposed to be a big dropoff after the top 3 next year. Its not as bad as i thought, but the carolina trade has to go through to make room. Im not sure carolina does that unless we add. They are giving us lindholm, their first, a young bottom pair d, a servicable goalie, and a small cap dump for ror, lehner, and two meh pieces.

Think the Sabres will be disappointed if they signed JVR for six years. The Leaf trade, trouble with trading first rounders two years away, its hard to project what the trade is....Is 5th pick or or 15th pick. And you say the its top 3 protected, so what the options to the trade if if its top three. Sabres Nylander may not be worth much in a NHL trade right now.
