Doesn't put up points? He's on pace for 25 points this season which is pretty good considering he averages 14 seconds of 5x4 time per game.

thats really not good considering his price tag

Seabrook has only averaged the same amount of PPG as RNH has over the last several seasons.....

Seabrook is a LEGITIMATE top 4 defenseman - he's still responsible in his own end and he can still put up points.... He's no where CLOSE to bottom pairing and he would be without question be the Oilers best defenseman....

Seabrook was once a top 10 defenseman in the league, he's not top 10 anymore, however that doesn't mean he's bottom pairing - it just means he's no longer top 10.....

Sorry but not being worth 6.875 million until your 40 DOES NOT mean "not good".....

Seriously...... Oilers fans laughing at Seabrook is hysterical tho considering Seabrook is absolutely everything the Oilers need to win , yet he's been called "bottom paring" and "fringe AHL'er"..... Seriously?? Seabrook is having an off year and he still put up 21 points so far playing 20 minutes a night...... Heck, last season Seabrook put up 40 points..

Do those states look terrible to you??

I was talking about Russell in this situation hahahaha. But you'll still never convince me that bringing in Seabrook as a 6.2 million dollar locker room guy would be worth it unless your taking Lucic

I'm not trying to convince you, I'm just telling you...

Seabrook is massively underrated and has been thrown under the bus- a lot.... And it's not right.

I'm sure if someone implied RNH was "4th line AHL trash" you would point out that wasn't true.

Since when were we talking about his "price tag"? I was never arguing that his contract was good value. I was pointing out that his production isn't at all bad considering usage in response to the assertion that "he doesn't put up points", which isn't true.

How many Oilers defensemen are putting up 25 points? He also gets very little PP time, if you look at his 17 5x5 points it puts him tied for 51st in the league (first pairing level), tied with Keith, Byfuglien, Trouba and Slavin.

ok but 25pts doesnt make up for his abysmal defensive play

Nope, it doesn't. He's a 2nd pair d-man at best - and that only if he has a strong partner. I'd prefer him on the third (sheltered) pair. But he IS an NHL player who doesn't warrant a buyout or cap-dump-style trade.

yes he does. if hes a 3rd pair guy at best then he is a MASSIVE hindrance on the cap. he SHOULD be dumped if possible
