Callahan has a M-NTC/NMC next year I can imagine ARZ is not on his list of place he'll go to.

Modified no trade** i am doing this for the 2019-2020 wich would be Callahan's last year of contract.

Ok great lol, he still got a M-NTC and I'd be willing to bet that ARZ isn't on the list of teams he's accept a trade to lol

I dont think that the Arizona trade was the main reasoning of the post.. im sure it was a mere place holder for salary cap implications. Settle down.
Good post though. Good lookin team

I’d rather retain some of Callahan’s contract to give him more value (because he’s not just a cap dump) than resign Sustr. Other than that, and maybe a few mods on some contracts, this is good.

Settle down? I'm not even fired-up. that "place holder for cap implications" is kind of a big part. Considering he'll be 34 yrs old w/ a $5.8 million hit, I don't see many teams that'll be willing to take him off TBL hands. If TBL can't trade him it makes some of these other moves kind of tough.

What are you going to do when Sergachev and Vas contracts are up? I think you would be better off either trading (if they are in a spot to trade him) or let Mcdonagh walk and save hay cap hit.

Killorn can always get trade saving enough money money for Sergachev and as for Vas, it'll be complicated! Maybe the cap will raise enough until then so the Lightning have enough for him.
But if you really feel you won't have the cap to sign him and need to let a player walk to UFA, i think your best choice is Stralman. I'd rather pay more for Mcdo than pay a bit less for Stralman.

There are plenty of other options, Callahan as like a max 15 no trade-team list at best....look at what CBJ did to get rid of Clarkson contract, what the panthers did to get rid of Bolland's contract or even look at CHI getting rid of Bickell's contract. So add a good asset like picks or a young guy alongside Callahan with only 1 year left on his deal and he's definitely and very easy contract to move.

Again assuming there is a team on his trade last that has the cap space. Moving out bad contract isn't as easy as people make it seem.

Good point but Callahan's play has realllly gone down alot, i feel like he's not even a 30 pts guy in the league anymore ( he has 15 pts in 60 games so far this year) so even if you keep like 1m of his salary i feel like teams won't do it and only reason i keep Sustr is because he is a righty and they dont have alot of those especially if they decided to let walk Stralman in order to sign Sergachev and Vas.

You've managed to stay right around the cap but you've only iced 20 players which is unlikely.

I think TB needs to take a hard look at 3 players going forward. Killorn, McDonagh and yes Callahan.

Personally, I think they should trade Killorn, not resign McD and simply buyout Callahan. I don't think anyone will take Callahan even with a 2nd. Make it a 1st and then hell yeah but a 2nd IMO isn't high enough. (Unless it was really early 2nd maybe)
