I don't think CHI does that trade, this is a weak draft outside the top 6-8, and they're in the position where they need youth no matter what, they'd need more than Gudas to get something done

Agreed. Not nearly enough to move up that many spots. They'd probably need to keep their 1st rounder from nashville

That's funny because I have heard this is a deep draft. I'm not sure how you can claim that the value isn't there when they are getting an NHL D man and 2 mid round firsts back in this deal.

Moving up in the draft seems to cost an exorbitant amount. Although I did a little digging and found this: https://www.broadstreethockey.com/2013/4/25/4262594/nhl-draft-pick-value-trading-up

Looks like the values you're suggesting aren't far off. At the end of the day I suppose it would come down to whether the guy chicago likes best will be available around 13-15 that they're comfortable enough sliding back that far.

Not sure I like the value on the Simmons trade. Tanev can be penciled in for at least 10 to 20 games missed every year. Despite his skill he's just not durable enough to be worth that value in return. I like his game I wish the Flyers had him but I don't want to see them give up assets for somebody who's not going to be there for large parts of the season.

The Chicago trade is interesting. I just don't see it happening unless the Flyers are willing to take a cab dump in return to sweeten the deal which now that they have gotten their cap situation straightened out I'd rather not see them do. Also Chicago's not trading their first pick until after the lottery.
