I was kinda thinking the opposite, the wings are trading two NHL players for one, though I understand the potential young players. both teams don't make the trade.

Not a chance in hell Detroit does this, Both Larkin+Mantha combined Detroit would at least want Dougie Hamilton in return. Larkin and Mantha's value is worth more then Tkachuk and Bennett combined Parsons plus low picks doesn't make up the fact that it's a pretty brutal deal for Detroit.

Tkachuk is a better player than both Larkin and Mantha. This would never happen.

Mantha has one less goal this season and had four more last year. Tkachuk has like 5 more assist. Larkin has 44 assist this season and the trade is pretty fair both ways. Bennett is a bust and Parsons hasn't played well.

Yeah too bad his number don't verify that he's a better player then both Mantha and Larkin, If any thing his numbers are pretty similar to both.

Higher points per game than both despite just starting to get powerplay minutes late this season, league best penalty differential, and one of the best possession forwards in the game. He's a legit talent.

for me Calgary wins this trade but I do like Tkachuk and the possibility of the Wings drafting his brother putting them on the same line. It also gives the Wings a little more cap space going forward for a couple seasons.

In all fairness Calgary is a better scoring team then Detroit, Mantha and Larkin are playing on a Detroit team that's near the bottom of scoring. If Detroit scoring wise was playing up to it's full potential Tkachuk, Mantha and Larkin probably would be in the similar range scoring wise Tkachuk is playing with more elite talent then either Larkin or Mantha. And that makes a big difference.

Larkin and Mantha are the building blocks for the Wings and I doubt they give them for 1 player and some questionable talent. Wings need D-man and if one is traded it will be for just that, not someone else's forwards.
