Everyone needs to stop with the Tavares to Toronto talk. Tavares and Matthews are both 1C's and you can only have one 1C. On top of that, signing Matthews+Marner, both of whom I'd rather have over JT, will become impossible.

Agreed, plus the signing of Komarov for three years, and Bieska.

I must have missed that in the rule book somewhere. guess the Pens have to give back their Cup rings.

The difference between Matthews/Tavares and Crosby/Malkin is that they've both accepted their roles: Crosby as 1C and Malkin as 2C, b/c they both entered the league the same year, which gave them time to adapt to their roles. Tavares and Matthews have been 1C's for their entire careers, and I doubt either would be willing to accept a "demotion" and be a 2C.
