Description
Left enough cap space to cover 2017-18 performance bonuses. No need to put Horton on LTIR, this way 2018-19 perf. bonuses dont carry over to 2019-20 (where the real cap crunch begins). Horton can be put on regular IR so roster size is then fine at 22. Sell high on MCelhinney; no way he repeats the season he's having right now. Matt Martin is a goner; pay his signing bonus on July 1st this summer and trade him for a 7th rounder for all I care.

tavares is gonna sign in toronto, just like stamkos did, and so will seguin and doughty right?

You do realize Stamkos was incredibly close to signing with Toronto, but he actually had a sick team in Tampa. Tavares has a pretty shitty team in the Islanders and a legit chance to win a cup with the Leafs. Check my part 2, all of Karlsson, Doughty, and Seguin are UFAs but none of them signed with the Leafs. I think Tavares is the only realistic option

10M is enough for JT and drop Hyman to the 4th with Brown. Leivo plays the PP every game he plays so give him someone to play with in Tavares.

yes we all know how incredibly close he was. in fact he was so close that he didn't sign with the leafs. there;s no incentive for tavares to come to toronto. if tor offers 11 mill in FA, san jose or nj will step in and offer 12. any team can outbid tor in terms of money because u have limited cap space to work with because of 3 big extensions coming up

laugh laugh Stamkos was incredibly close to signing in Toronto, No he wasn't i live near Tampa and was pretty much following the whole Stamkos saga. He was never going to leave Tampa he just wanted to see what he could command on the open market. Reportedly what drove him away from Toronto was the endorsements he felt it was to overwhelming for him.
